Rashad Evans is the new coach at UC-Irvine. He recently helped coach Emporia State University to a CEDA and NDT Championship. Rashad himself is a former national debate champion, having won CEDA in 2003. In addition to winning CEDA, Rashad was in the semifinals and quarterfinals of the NDT and was a two time first round team at the University of West Georgia. Rashad has a JD from the University of Pennsylvania and will be starting UC-Irvine’s PhD program in Culture & Theory in the Fall of 2013. This is his second year teaching at the Loon and has previously taught high school debate camps at the University of Michigan, Wake Forest, Emory and Columbia University.
